Only Registered Dietitians are licensed through the medical board to provide Medical Nutrition Therapy. Medical Nutrition Therapy is defined as an evidence-based process aiming to treat or manage a disease through nutrition. Its components are comprehensive and include assessment of nutritional status and provision of nutritional diagnosis, diet modifications, counseling, and specialized nutrition therapies, provided by a Registered Dietitian (Encyclopedia of Human Nutrition). While practicing Medical Nutrition Therapy, the dietitians at Pep Talk Nutrition LLC will utilize evidenced based methods, including motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy, to ensure each individual receives high quality, customized nutrition care.

Proper nutrition in childhood and adolescence is essential to support optimal growth and development. However, meeting nutritional needs will look different for each child. Here at Pep Talk Nutrition we use age appropriate counseling and education tools to help equip patients, and their families, with the tools they need for positive lifestyle change. From establishing plans to help treat pediatric metabolic diseases including diabetes/pre-diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, metabolic liver disease, dyslipidemia and high blood pressure, to helping overcome sensory eating concerns, and working to establish a healthy relationship with their body and food, Maggie is experienced in helping children and families with an array of nutrition focused goals.
